This is a pretty symbolic table for me. Everyone in Colorado's Roaring Fork Valley and in the surrounding communities joined together during a difficult and tragic time. The terrible fire that struck the Storm King Mountain area took the lives of fourteen fire fighters, but in doing so it strengthened people's resolve to stay unified during times of crisis. I wanted to demonstrate that in the design of this particular table. 
Each piece of wood that surrounds the cabinet frame is strengthened because of the pieces around it. The angle of the cabinet forces the pieces up and out. Looking at the table reminds us that by joining together and meeting problems head on, any thing can be overcome.
